I did it. Boat U.S. stocks the Tele-Flex cable, No. CC17211, which is the replacement for the shifting cable on the H34, 1983. Cost: $23.99. I installed it today. About 2 1/2 hours. Not too hard, if you don't mind standing on your head in the rear lazerette! If you need to replace yours, I recommend dropping the pan that covers the steering cable. It is located in the rear cabin, above the berth. About 10 screws hold it in place. I will write a more detailed explanation, step-by-step, and post it, if anyone is interested. Also, I believe the throttle cable is the same cable. So one spare works for either shift or throttle.
