I need to replace the shift cable for my Edson pedestal shift and a 2000 year model 9.9 Honda. Does anyone know of a source for this?

Found ours locally
Boatersworld had one that was close enough, on the shelf. I think west marine did too. I usually shop on-line but it was about the same money and I had it in hand as a gauranteed fit from my old one. It was a bear to replace but after disassembling the pedistal a couple times it was easier. Edson has the manual for this procedure on-line too. Just keep the new one routed clear of the steering cables and pullys. Fish the new one in by tying it onto a line attached to the old one when you pull it out. Good luck, Michael

Get good cables
I got the Tfxtreme 3300 CC cables from West Marine, part number 1165315, 10 foot cable. What a difference from the original cables! These are worth the extra money. The are so smooth. I would replace both the shift and throttle cables. I replaced the shift one year and had to replace the throttle the next year. As posted above you can find instructions to replace the cables on the Edson web site. If you have problems, post them here.
