She Sails Tomorrow

Well, this is the weekend that I have waited for! After purchasing my 1973 23 convertible on EBay, getting it on April 29th, weekends of working on her and working out the the bugs (we have been out in her 3 times just under motor power), we step the mast tonight and sail this weekend (nice since it is supposed to be 95 here this weekend). I just want to give a big THANK YOU to all for your help lately. This was a big step (17 to 23 foot), and was great to know that there was a place to come with all of my (silly?) questions. I am sure I will have a bunch more come Monday (ha ha ha). Anyway, again, Thanks and will take some pictures this weekend and get them posted for all to see. Enjoy you weekend all! ~Chris

Great!

Chris, Congratulations! I sail a 1974 converible myself, on Long Island sound.This is my third year with her, up from a 22. Similar sailing characteristics, but points better with the board down. Still need to fix up the curtains for the pop-up, and the convertible top crunches a little when you walk on it, but we sailed twenty miles up to Mystic and back yesterday, and used a bucks worth of gas!

That was fun!! (Shoestring)

Shoestring...The 23 I just purchased was a "L.I. Sound" boat herself!! Was based out of Bridgeport till '97 (been sitting ever since). Well, all went well and we had a blast! I do have a question about the roller furler (see new topic). We didn't use it because we had 4 kids on with us whole was loving the front deck for sunning themselves in the 95 degree weather. I am sooooo happy a purchased this boat and look forward to many years of enjoyment with her.
