Congrats welcome to the "Hunter" fleet!
Morning Seadance, I had read this thread a couple of days ago and finally got a chance to locate the boat you're about to purchase. Everyone here has been routing for you and your family, anyone with as much enthusiasum and love of sailing as you do deserves to find their floating Nirvana. So many of us have or are completely overhauling our boats and this is the best resource for just how to do it. If you need help (perhaps making new cushions) don't hesitate to shout. I've pretty much done allot of the labor on our boat while my significant other is at work during the day. But most important remember to have fun, that's what this life is all about! one of the finest Family activities... Boating... Our children have grown up on boats. There is little in life better than you and your family stretched out on the deck in a quite anchorage with canopy of stars overhead, Or a lively game of cards (once Go Fish now Poker) under the soft glow of the cabin lights and the sound of wave lapping against the hull.... Sailing is a chance to spend time with the family completely without the distractions of the rest of the world. Enjoy. Check out the owner reviews of this model - there are 85 of them and they might point out some common issues you should pay extra attention to: http://www.sailboatowners.com/reviews/revlist.tpl?fno=0&bbrand=Hunter&model=30_74-83 Never been on an H30 and don't know if it's a Cherubini design, but it looks similar to an H33 and I think those are terrific boats.
