Shaft Alignment

Robert, It sounds like a shaft alignment may be in order. I have not done ours yet, but the way I understand it, you must separate the flange and use a feeler guage between the two surfaces. The engine motor mounts are adjusted to gain centering and alignment. There may be a few other tricks like lightly cleaning the surfaces first, etc. You can get the info here or in a sailboat maintanance book. There is also a way to check your cutlass bearing to rule out excessive play causing some of the vibration. Sorry that I don't have more specific info, this is what I have heard and read. good luck, Mike D
