I have 1979 Hunter 30. Does anyone know the shaft size or size coupling that I need to fit a Yanmar 2QM15?

Marc: I think you have a 1" shaft, but I would guess that it will need to be modified to fit the new engine.

I replaced the shaft on my 1980 H30 a few yaers ago. The original shaft was 1" X 49". The yard replaced it with a 50" shaft. I had the 2QM15 engine and everything fit. I don't remember the details about the coupler but it was a standard four bolt design with a set screw/bolt to hold the shaft.

I just replaced my 1978 H30 shaft, it was 1" x 50", and whomever you are getting the shaft from can supply you with the correct flange, just measure across the face of the output flange on the motor and tell them the make and model of the motor and they will match it up. You can measure it in inches but they actually go by metric. Yanmar only uses two different size flanges a smaller 4 inch and a larger one. that should get you what you need.
