I may have to replace my shaft next haul. If so, thinking of a split shaft coupler, namely an R&D, and their flexible coupling. (1994 Hunter 40.5 Yanmar 2300 hours, two blade geared folding prop) Soooo:
I may have to replace my shaft next haul. If so, thinking of a split shaft coupler, namely an R&D, and their flexible coupling. (1994 Hunter 40.5 Yanmar 2300 hours, two blade geared folding prop) Soooo:
- Realizing that the coupling ought to be refaced again when the shaft is removed, is there any benefit to the split coupling in your opinion?
- If the flexible coupling is used, should I use the ground insert for continuity?
- Have you ever used a flexible coupling for a customer's boat, or perhaps a better question, have you ever recommended a flexible coupling for a customer's boat?
