Does any Catalina 350 owner know the real matress dimensions for both cabins? We're getting our boat in April and I'd like to get some covers made before the motley crew take over. Thanks

C350 mattresses

Mary, Congratulations on your new C350. Be sure to register your name and boat in the Owner's Directory on this site. The mattresses are odd shaped, and therefore not easy to tell you the dimensions. The forward mattress is basically queen sized, but with severe angles at the head and foot. The aft mattress seems as if it's a basic rectangle, but the head end is skewed. My suggestion: use regular bedding at first, then make custom stuff after you can take measurements aboard. We have the bed linens package from Catalina - fit perfect, feel good. Agree

Mary, I've got to agree with Jack on this one. It would be very difficult to do this without actual access to the mattress. Unless possibly you can contact someone at Catalina and get dimensions, angles, etc. from them. I have done standard size sheet modifications before on our previous boat. It was really not fun, so this time we ordered the custom sheets from Catalina. They are very nice quality and fit perfectly. For us, it was well worth the price, which was approximately the price of department store sheets (high end). $200ish? for both front and back cabin, fitted and flat, with 4 pillow cases. Good luck either way and enjoy your new boat!!

Matteress Measurements

We measured the matteresses this past spring and decided to buy a fitted Queen size set for the fwd cabin, and to wait on the aft cabin as we currently don't sleep there. Both matteresses measure appox 6" thick. The matteress in the aft cabin is 54" wide measured from aft to fwd. Measured from port to stbd at the aft side it is 78". From port to stbd at the fwd side it measures 86". The matteress in the fwd cabin measures 77" from fwd to aft along the center of the matteress. At the fwd end, it is about 27" wide measured port to stbd. At the aft end, it measures 46" port to stbd. At the widest point, the matteress measures 58" port to stbd. This "widest point" occurs 37" from the aft corners and 44" from the fwd corners. I've attached a rough sketch of these dimensions for the fwd. matteress. Happy sewing! :) Thank you Jack, Barbara and especially Tim for the detailed info. I'll get right on this as my winter project. Happy Thanksgiving.
