I saw a modification to the settee table that was a cabinet built around it to hold plates, glasses, bottles and other things. Does anyone know where that is and if there any plans for this? Thanks

This was a cabinet built behind the large settee table. When the table was down it remained on the bulkhead and held the table when it was up. I thought I had seen it in the same section but cannot find it now. Help!

I have never seen a pic of it done on a catalina - I have seen it done on an Island packet - trouble with Catalina 30 is the table at its usual length cannot just be hinged up at the bulkhead. You would have to reduce the length of the table by about 8 inches - that's why there is a seperate "notch" about 8" below the table brackets on the main bulkhead.

This is exactly what I was looking for and I tought I saw it on a C30. I guess you don't have to hinge it maybe just put the same connection as now. Hasen't anybody ever done this on a C30. I feel like I am going bonkers....

tech talk from the 80's
Hi rick, I inherited the old tech talk articles in a binder with my boat. There are literally hundreds of mods. That table is there. The plans are basic but not so great beyond that. I am in oriental most weekends in the yard owned by paul welles drop by if you get the chance and i will give you the article. or you might find it if tech talk has an archive. Oh yeah I'm the only cat 30 in that yard so you shouldn't have any trouble finding me.
