I have older Lewmar 40s (1978?). I am in the process of servicing them for 2005. I am having a problem getting them apart. The winch is the standard model. There seems to be a plastic ring above the top roller bearing that's not mentioned in the current servicing manuals. How do you get this thing off without ruining it?
