It only takes one minute and 2 seconds to rebuild. I will buy one of those when my head wears out. It took an hour!

I'm afraid you won't be buying one, Hermit...

The Brydon Boy was Canadian version of the Jabsco manual toilet, discontinued in the early 1980s. No parts have been available for at least 15 years...Jabsco used to offer a "universal" rebuild kit that fit the SeaLand 751 and 752 and the Brydon, but they discontinued that nearly 10 years ago. What Chambao posted wasn't a rebuild, it was just his own workaround to replace ONE washer. He didn't mention lubing the pump though.

He thinks it works as well as it ever did..but after 30 years, the inside of the pump cylinder has become so worn that it's unlikely to still be pumping at even 50% of its original efficiency. But it's his boat, his toilet...and if that's all it takes to make him happy, it's ok with me.

I noticed for many toilets, many rebuild kits cost almost as much as the toilet. WTF?

Yes, doesn't make much sense...but they do. This is why I chose to get the Raritan PHC LBA kit instead of rebuilding my now discontinued Headmate 90.

Actually Peggy, I referred to lubing in the video. I used vaseline for the pump rod,
O ring and chamber. Seems to work okay and no problems with efficiency.
By the way thanks for all the great info you offer.

You shouldn't use vaseline. Petroleum products will damage the o-rings and such in the head.
