Hi fellow Beneteau owners, in relation to a 361, 2002 french built with 30HP Volvo Penta drive, what do you recommend, folding or self furling and would anyone recommend a particular brand...?

If props, I'm huge fan of the FlexOfold props that we have on our 36.7 and 260. Good power, low resistance, and the open and start on reverse NOW. It was standard Beneteau issue on the 36.7. We added it to the 260.

A great review of folding props.

Agreed with Jackdaw, 323, only thing to remember with flexofold, put gearbox in reverse briefly once you've stopped the engine to make it fold, otherwise it won't in our experience.

I am partial to the Autoprop but is pricey. Has as much power in reverse as in forward, cuts fuel consumption significantly. I once grounded hard, no damage thankfully. I was able to back off. I doubt is I could have with a fixed 3 blade prop. Look it up on their website. I have used one for 10 years and love it. Just bought one for my 423.
