The Breezer

I recently bought a 2001 Hunter 320 with a Seldon Mast. I just lifted and installed the mast on the step and noticed there was only one clevis pin on the aft of the mast step. Is this all that holds the mast on the step? There are also two smaller holes on the fore side of the step but no pins were left in these openings. Should these holes also have clevis pins? Thanks Richard

Pins?

I'm surprised there are any pins at all. I have a H333 and there are no pins.

The weight of the mast and the downward force of the rigging holds the mast on the step.

Me too

No pins on my H320 from 2001. It's pretty gigantic to rig on one's own. I should think a crane would be needed or the Marines from Iwo Jima.

You'll enjoy the sailboat. Here's some more fun to add later...

Here’s an easy-to-make bowsprit, seats in the anchor locker.
This will throw the spin ahead of the main, less blanketing.
Tack line and 2 sheets permanently deployed for quick setup.

Typo correction: Eyelet should be 3/8 inch.
