Selden Rodkicker seems to have a lot of play at the mounting bracket - is this normal?

The mounting bracket where my Rodkicker attaches to the mast seems to allow a lot of movement because of loose fitting connections. I've tried to describe the two ways it moves in the picture below:

Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal? Or is mine in need of some TLC?

Thanks,
Andy

If the vertical movement is excessive you could install a spacer/washer to take up the extra space.. Do the tangs appear to be bent? or square to the base?

If the mounting bolt is sloppy the hole (or the bolt) might simply be worn. Probably not a functional issue but fixable with a bushing or changing out the bolt/redrilling for a snugger fit.

At the end of the day, aside from some possible noise I don't think this is 'fatal'...

Agreed, not fatal but it is annoying to hear it banging up and down in light winds.

I guess I was checking to see if some amount of slack is normal, or perhaps even required, before I try to “fix” it with spacers.
