Securing Centerboard

I bought an Oday 15 that needs some work. I have a question regarding how to keep the centerboard in the up position. My centerboard has a large nylon pin at the top but I cannot determine what this is for, or if this is original equipment. I don't see anything on the boom to keep the centerboard up.Can anyone explain?

on my 14' javelin, the line attached to centerboard comes up thru hull, to a block and back to a jam cleat. there is no connection to the boom on the javelin.

My Oday 15 centerboard has 2 lines that come up through the top of the centerboard trunk. one pulls the centerboard up and the other pulls it down. the up line has a cleat to tie off the line and keep the centerboard up.Georger Ricketts
