I have continuing engine problems and my attempt to tow my boat to anchor out - well - didn't work too well. So I have done my best to double up the lines at the dock and pray for the best - so far so good. Question is, other than using the winches, I've found it a challenge to tie up given the small size of the cleats. Oh yeah, I don't have a vehicle that will tow the boat and trailer is, er broke, so removing boat from water wasn't an option. Aany advice?? I ended up tieing bowlines thru the center portion of the cleat for the second line. Also - along the same line (get it line...) the same question applies when tieing off a second anhor. Fair skies and a tad less wind to all!!! My best wishes to the lower part of our state - you all hang in there - some of us will head down to help once we get thru our part of this!!

Hope everything will be alright

Your right, cleat size can be a problem when doubling up the lines. You might want to consider using the base of the mast for spring lines fore and aft. When I anchor out for a Hurricane I also secure the bitter end of the anchor lines to the mast base or back to the winches in case the forward cleats fail.
