I am going to make it, somehow (we have a plan) I made it through another summer (2nd. one) with my 85C30 sitting in my Boat Barn. We are on a mission to work straight through for 5 years (till i'm 55) and then take off for a year + or - and go to, and down the ICW to her sisters in St. Augustine and back. Maybe next fall we will close the business (dog boarding & Grooming) for a month and just sail lake Michigan and put her back in the barn. I am trying to cycle the batteries a few times a year and next spring I will fire the engine for the first time in 2-1/2 years. I properly preserved all systems for long term storage and I am not worried about anything. It is actuall clean and dry in my monster garage, it is just getting younger and drier as it sits. We really miss her but we get out 1 or 2 time a year with some friends with a C34 and a couple times in a fishing boat.

I even worked at West Marine the last summer she was in the water, so I replaced every line, dock and rigging, every block and all tackle and a new furler too.

Anyone on the same schedule as us? Or been there, done that?

I couldnn't stand to see the C30 forum empty, so I dreamed up a post.

I don't blame you for not talking to a dirtdwelling sailor, Oh yea that reminds me of a boat name we dreamed up dirtdefeet . Any way, this year mine is already put away!

You're not alone

The only difference is my boat is dead in the water. Hopefully she'll be going again soon. Thanks to all of my dock neighbors I still get out though!

Good luck with the projects!

Im in the same boat

My C30 came home 2 years ago . Ive been removing the wet decks(both sides) and refinishing the top side . We redid the bottom with barrier coat and bottom paint . My big problem is I'm getting a bad reaction to the epoxy dust and cant really work in the hut for to long . I hope we could be in the water next year but i don't know . Its real hot in the building in the summer so Ive been working on it in the spring and fall . If the county gos into a deep recession i will have lots of time to work on it .

I keep telling myself:

It is just getting younger the longer it sits inside!! Yeah the economy should be back in swing in about 5 or 6 years when we hope to get out there!!

Thanks for the reply, Dean
