I'm trying to find out from an actual owner the sailing characteristics of the Pearson 37-2. I've never sailed a wing-keel and wondered if it was feasible to take such a boat down the ICW. How high can you get it to point with the self tacking jib? At what wind speed do you normally reef or feel overpowered? I know the answers will be subjective, but any input is appreciated, thanks.

I love the way my P37 sails, but my response will be a little different, My 37 came from Virginia where the previous owner shortened the mast to 42ft and put on a new main and a 130 genoa to go under bridges. It sails at 6.5 knotts in 12 knott wind and is always on its feet. I have all the original mast, sails, and rigging, and wonder if I should change back at haul out time? Anyone have advice on this?

The P37-2 is an extended version of the P36-2 (10 inches longer with the same LWL). A sugar scoop was added to the hull and the same deck mold was used along with the same rigging.
