Can anyone recommend a good, mobile Yanmar mechanic in the Seattle area (eastside)? It's about time for a 600 hr service. So far, I've heard of John Flaherty of Yacht Specialties.

Having "enter" key problems too

We purchased a 1991 H30 in late July. The engine lacked maintenance and during the sea trial and survey it smoked and then quit. There were so many barnacles on the bottom that we were cruising at less than 1 knotbefore the engine quit....the sea trial to always remember!! Most interesting...we still bought the boat. Anyway, our surveyor recommended a certified Yanmar mechanic down around Seaview on Shilshole boatyard where our bottom paint was being redone. The yacht brokerage made the same recommendation, but the mechanic was booked solid through 3-4 weeks and we could not wait that long. Call Seaview and ask them and if they cannot help you, the staff at Elliott Bay Yacht Brokers are truly great people. I believe Doc Freeman's carries a lot of Yanmar parts and they probably could also recommend who they feel is best. We ended up at Yacht Care with a mechanic that took care of all of our problems and our boat is running well and the second engine survey found no problems. Good Luck!!!
