There is a lot on YouTube about inflatable repair and, in fact, I have looked into it a little, and found organized clubs around home built inflatables for backpacking and specialty adventuring. 3M makes all the products you would need and the material is affordable. I am interested in it because I plan to make custom inflatable bunk and bench pads for Dragonfly.

Less, I think you may find this link particularly interesting. https://www.omick.net/adventure/packrafts/diy_packraft.html

Hi Les, try Mike at Conquest Inflatables 425/345-7539. He has done repairs for me before and was fair and reasonable, plus he did a good job.

Do you get to blow it up while you're on it?!? :)
No.

If I'm on it, at 210 lbs, it would blow me up. :yikes:

My plan is to use 3/4" closed cell foam to make 4" thick mattresses with 2-1/2" space in the centre for the inflatable. That way, I hope to get better cushioning without having to use an open cell foam. Closed cell foam, by itself, is too hard to sleep on and open cell foam makes terrible flotation. The cockpit cushions won't be that thick and can be a little firmer. They will be positively attached. If the boat becomes swamped, the cushions will add to the flotation.
