I'm removing my y-valve to go to a holding tank only system. I have a hose running out of my holding tank to a manual pump for overboard disposal. I will cut that hose and plug the opening in the tank. Do you have any suggestions about nice, permanent ways to seal that big hole to hold the waste and the aroma? Thanks.

Buy a 1.5" threaded plug...

Available at most any hardware store. Wrap plenty of teflon tape around it and screw it in. As with thread-barb fittings, don't over-tighten it...only 1 full turn past hand-tight, even if threads are still showing. More and you risk cracking the tank fitting.

Capping tank

I had to do the same thing by law. I cut the hose well above the waterline and the tank by using an expandable plug in the end of the hose. You can get these at home depot.
