Can anyone tell me the best way to remove dried sealant from plexiglass? I got a de-bonding agent from West Marine which works fairly well, but one window still has smear and film after applying it witha soft cloth as recommended. The debonding agent seems to move the film around but doesn't remove it. Many thanks.

Plexiglass sealant removal

I don't know of any product on the market that will safely remove the sealant, but I would use a razor blade scraper very carefully, followed by 600 wet-or-dry sandpaper (use wet). After that, I use "Brasso" applied with a piece of T-shirt material to remove the finest scratches. I've been doing this for thirty years with good results. Brasso will compleatly remove scratches from your watch crystal, sunglasses.....most anything of plastic, acrylic or plexiglass. I restored the ports on my 33 with it.
