sealant for toe rails

hey everyone, working on the list of to do's for my boat (for once I get her back to the marina) and I know the toe rails leak so I would like to rebel them, what should I use, away from the boat at the moment so I can't say if they are just screwed or thru bolted.
my to do list is getting really long, not sure I'll get to splash her this season, especially with the restrictions at the moment

I was thinking of using butyl but I'm worried that if I have screws instead of nuts and bolts the rotation of the screws will prevent the butyl to do a good sealing job, mind you I've never used butyl so I might be wrong. I would love to order from @Main Sail but his site states they don't deliver outside of the us
