Seal windows in 390

Hi,
I recently bought a 390 and discovered that the large ceiling windows are leaking.
What kind of msterial should I use to seal them? Should I use rubber on the sides and underneath or just silicone?

Mine too, I might just do silicone

I have a 393. Some Beneteaus have had significant leaks, and had to have the repairs done professionally. My leak was minor, so I tried a thin silicone that is fluid enough to flow into the small cracks in the sealant. I used the type sold to repair leaks in automobile windshield surrounds. It has worked well for a couple of years. It's thin, so I taped around the outside of the skylight until the silicone set up enough to stay in place, then removed the tape.

I have a 390 also, and fixed the leak with a combination of car windshield flowable silicone and regular silicone filled in on the outside of the skylight windows. So far I haven't had any issues. I also keep them covered with a Sunbrella cover the wraps around the windows as well.

Another hint, instruct your guests and crew not to stand on them. Too much weight and they flex, weakening the seals.

It is likely the windows were bedded with Sikaflex polyeurathane. Silicon may seal temporarily but will eventually separate and leak. Silicone residue will then prevent anything else from sticking.
Check the Sikausa site for marine products and their info on sealing marine windows.
