The bronze seacocks on my Pearson 28 are getting a little stiff. With the boat out of the water and replacing hoses, what is the best lube to use on these? Tim R

spray lithium grease

I use white lithium grease which comes in a spray can. I've always been able to get it at the boatyards I use.

...at automotive store everywhere. And probably cheaper. But I use white teflon grease available at marine stores. I brush it onto the closed seacock from both the outside and inside the boat. Then work it in by opening and closing the valve.

Water-Pump Lub'

Water-Pump Grease also works well (as does lithium, etc) for Seacock Lubrication. You may want to consider food-grade lubricants if any of the Seacocks supply water to the Galley. (I often use seawater in cooking) ie - goto: http://www.forsythe.on.ca/fhg2.html and select: Forsythe FHG-2 Grease - Food Grade grease Groco recommends eith Teflon (TFE) or Silicone Grease. http://www.groco.net/parts/data/574.pdf Regards, Gord
