sea hood modification

Hello.
I have Hunter 40.5 1994
I want to separate the sea hood just in front of the traveler to allow easy access to the turning block an lines under it with out needing to remove the traveler.
Has any one done this? Any tips and learninga.

Zippy, there was recently a thread about the sea hood, but it was because of sticky hatch. Search sticky hatch and it should come. There were pictures and everything.
