Scupper hoses

I need some help here. First a little background. My boat is scheduled for launching tomorrow morning, @ 7AM. Last weekend, I was discovered that my cockpit was full of water, and there was an additional 2 - 3" of water inside the cabin. I was not amused! Over the past week, I deduced that the scuppers in the cockpit sole became jammed with debris, accounting for the water in the cockpit. I'm speculating that any water trapped in the hoses leading from the scuppers to the through hull fitting probably froze and then split the hoses, thereby accounting for any water that worked into the cabin. Here's my problem: I am 100 miles away from the boat today, and will need to buy replacement hoses to repair the problem before launching tomorrow morning. Does anyone know the diameter and length of these hoses that lead from the scuppers in the cockpit sole to the through hull fittings in the transom?

Maybe??

Hi Hugh, Think it's possible the cockpit filled due to the blocked scuppers and then flowed over the companionway into the cabin. Not likely the scupper hoses split when frozen - check the cockpit sole and transom fittings - think they should not have been overstress by freezing. If the hoses are split then duct tape should be adequate after launch until you can replace. Good Luck, Bob

Hose sizes

My 84' has 1"x36" hoses. Longer hoses are good to make the 90 Deg. bend up. Freezing has alway been an issue with the bedding on the deck and clamped joints. Watch out! The deck fittings are nylon and will break if they are orignal! Get new deck fillings with the hose and transom fittings may be in order. I am on to 2nd set in the last 20 years with the boat.
