What is the scupper hose size for a 27 foot 1977 Hunter?

The following discussion may only make sense to a 27 77 Hunter owner.
There is 2 inches of water in my bilge following a hard rain. This occurs both during on shore and in water storage. There has never been any evidence of water moisture inside the cabin. But since most of the water is located in the forward sections of the bilge, I didn't suspect the scupper hoses. It will be easier to understand this comment if you have seen the interior bilge construction. But something must be leaking. There is no evidence of water leaking onto the mast support beam when the cabin head mast box is removed. This has annoyed me to the point of having to find the source of the leak. So I will start by replacing the scupper hoses and check the scupper fittings. I checked the starboard hoses which are resting on large blocks of foam to protect from chafe. Following a hard overnight rain, the foam blocks and area around the hoses where dry. But I still need to check the port side hoses. Got my fingers crossed.

The plastic fittings usually go before the hoses. It should be time to replace those too.

I had a broken scupper hose and I found 2 quarts of water in my bilge intermittently. I found the crak in the hose by accident while I was working on something else in this area. The break was near the scupper - so i cut 2" off and reinserted the hose. There has been no more water.
I would suggest have some one inject water into the scupper using a water hose and you watch and see if you can see any water leaking. To track water I lay paper towels down in the areas that I suspect. Even if the water is not present at the time you check - once the paper towel becomes wet it will have traces of water.

Thanks, I'll try and locate the leak with a hose. Do you know the size of the scupper hose for the 27 foot 1977 hunter? A sales associate at a West Marine store thought heavy duty head holding tank hoses would be strong enough to withstand freezing in the winter? Reinforced heavy duty engine exhaust hose may not be necessary. But again there is no antifreeze protection for scupper hoses. What would you suggest?
