Please tell me the best way to repair 3 #8 screw holes in a solid section of fiberglass in the stern section of the coaming on my 1991 Hunter. Thanks

Hank, OK, I'll try.

Sometimes the easiest way to do it it to just re-install a shorter version of the same screws. Caulk them first. They should look presentable because they will look as if they are doing something instead of having holes there.

Hank, Fred has a good suggestion...

Another low cost alternative is to squirt 3M 4200 into each hole and then use a putty knife to level with the surrounding area. It makes the holes almost invisible. You can also use a gelcoat repair kit that you can tint to match your boat's color. This would be a better repair but a bit more expensive. Of course if you want the holes to disappear, and have deep pockets, a yard can do it. They will grind a one foot area around the holes and fill with repair material and finish off with gelcoat to match. Terry
