I'm retiring next year (age 54) and heading to the Caribbean. I understand there is a lot of work down there, aboard boats, in the refrigderation field. Where would a person go to learn Marine Refrigderation??? Thanks Ron/KA5HZV

Chapman's has several courses you can take

that will cover the topics. I think there is a class on yacht management which would allow you to do lots of things. www.chapmans.org Also, Westlawn has a home study course called Yacht Design Lite that covers things like that. www.westlawn.org I would go with Chapman's if you can afford it (it ain't cheap). They use hands on teaching methods.

Ron, start a company. . . .

and hire me! You know by the time I finish the H37C I will be an expert in almost everything(but women). I'll be free after 12/31/02. And I'll definitely be looking for you there. :)

Boat Refrigeration School

I have trained many people in the repair and maintenance of boat refrigeration. They start with my book and we follow up with you constructing and servicing each type system from used parts.
