Schaffer traveller car

We have a 1985 Hunter 31. The main traveller car is worn so that it only drags instead of sliding. I ordered a new 6 wheel Schaffer car but it doesn't fit. The supplier has had a converstation with Schaffer who tell him that they have changed their specs slightly and the new car will NOT fit the old 1 and 1/8th inch track. Any advice on where I might find Schaffer gear circa mid 80's?

Just replaced mine

What timing. I just replaced my traveler on my Hunter 31. I replaced it with a 4 to 1 purchase Garhauer MT-1 for $223. Can't beat the price. I still have my original Schaefer with an upgraded 4 to 1 purchase. If you are interested e-mail me jkbraun@sbcglobal.net The Garhauer comes in a 5ft.length track which is 6 inches to short, but you can special order the tack for 66 inches at an additional charge. I installed the 5 ft. track, but haven't had time to try it out yet. In the past I never used the lower portion of the track.
