Bill,I have the CF-500 on my 25.5. It works, but there are some shortcomings. First, unless you get the longer foil, your max luff will be 30'2"--not a big deal.Second, you will be maxing the unit, not in terms of potential failure, but in terms of the mechanical advantage because of the drum size. If you get strong winds, the sail may be difficult to reef without winching the furling line.I have done OK because I usually carry a 130% genoa, but even that is sometimes difficult. The new CF-700 is more money but would solve both shortcomings. I would have chosen that unit if it had been available at the time.By the way, the CF-500 requires #5 luff tape, less common than #6 for the CF-700 and most other small furling units.Actually, though, I am converting to a Harken 00AL to increase furling power, get the double-track foil and have the ability to remove the drum to use full-hoist sails.Hope this helps.Dave WeirH25.5 "Last Resort"
