Snapfurl on 26
On the 26 ,in either choiceof furlers, you have to shorten the head stay,in adition I installed a stalock fitting w/fork to a new steamball w/eye,which is the original mast attachment in a 94 model.I think later boats had a t-fittng.(on the 260 you dont have to shorten)whith the stalock is a real simple job.At the base plate you have to add an extention double plate which must be at least 4 inches long,in order to clear deck.I use the Snapfurl 500 unit since the head sail size allows it and you will save a few $$$.the snapfurl has a lock ,which prevents removing the drum for trailering.I whent with the snapfurl cause i think its solid built, easy to install and has an open drum so you can detect trouble. On the other hand ,the CDI leaves a free line to rig a spinaker, though it should be higher on the mast.Fair winds.Ulises
