This post is somewhat a test to see how these pictures show up here.. The pictures were taken with a Sony DSC-HX1 which has a still scan feature - it seems to work well.

Mountain scenes from Colorado last weekend.

(Actually these are shots of ice cracks on Elevenmile res which is very frozen over at the moment)

Beautiful shots

I have two questions.

Where is the boat?

What is a "still-scan" feature?

The pictures were taken without a tripod - you point the camera on one end of the scene, push the shutter button and scan the camera from right to left (or the other direction with a setting change). The camera must take a vertical slice of the picture at a time and builds the image as you scan.

Boat? Un-frozen water is about 10 weeks away around here.. and 14 to 16 weeks away from where the pictures were taken.

Wow

Now I am really impressed with the camera. I had never heard of that feature.

I feel really bad for you hearing that your water freezes...that must be very inconvenient. ;)
