Finally got a spanking clear day with 8-12 knots of wind this afternoon. Busting high 6's & low 7's with spray over the bow like its supposed to be!. Looking forward to Fall Sailing!
It sure seemed like a long hot & windless season here on the upper Chesapeake. The salt is much further north this year. We have barnacles by the hundreds where there might have been a dozen in past years. The prop was two round lobes of the little buggers last week. Had to dive with a putty knife because the boat would hardly move under power & way out of balance. They are also laughing at my fresh Micron Extra bottom job this spring.
I'll be looking for a prop & shaft anti fouling product after this season.

Great. I'm in the central bay and was wondering what my prop looks like. I'm going out next weekend.

Yep, we are in Middle River and haulling out first week of Oct. then back in for another year or two. We missed the great sailing this past weekend do to my work schedule but a friend was out and they did a round the Baltimore light and then motored back up. Said they had a great day sailing. We hardly sailed this summer do to the high humidity. Looking forward to lots of sailing now through spring !

I guess I should bring my boat to Chesapeake Bay. My season is over and the boat is stored for the winter already. Won't be back in the water until next Memorial Day. Oh well, I can sail in July and I don't have concerns about barnacles.

Ah Ha! Need a northern boat for the summer and a southern boat for the winter!
Yeah right... There's probably a law of nature that says the amount of work would be squared, not doubled.
