At WYC that means a pot luck buffet for a late dinner, and then heading out for a night sail. Last night not a ton of breeze, but everything else was perfect.
That's a great idea on a full moon night. Racing at night is a blast, and even better when you can see. The evening these pictures were taken, it was so bright out that you could read. My marinebeam light sadly was not much fun. And binoculars were much better. Our July full moon is always "celebrated" with a Friday night race. We start at our normal race course at 7pm and go 36 nm up the coast to a town with a state dock. Shower, breakfast, and sail home. It gives the crews a taste for night sailing but with a short night and full moon. This weekend's race was a long beat, so lots of fun. The wind died the next morning, so unfortunately the ride home was motoring. Great fun for the race, however no pictures due to the poor lighting.
I missed itSame here. 17-18 boats. The rabbit left the harbor about 8:30 with virtually no wind. Fortunately, it soon came up and hung around 8-10 for the evening. We all got back in about midnight. Great night sail.
