Peggy I am rebuilding the head in my H25.5. Is there any need to use some sort of sealant when installing the 1.5" sanitation hose back onto the various fittings. I am using new hose and will double clamp with ss hose clamps. Thanks for your advice.

No sealant on sanitation hose connections

Just double clamp, making sure the screws are on opposite sides of the hose. Use only teflon tape on threaded tank fittings, and be careful not to overtighten 'em. Plastic tank fittings are NPT (National Pipe Thread) standard, which are slightly (so slightly that it’s not noticeable to the naked eye in such a short piece) tapered. They’re also self-sealing. So when threading fittings into the tank, tighten only one turn past “hand tight,” plus enough to aim an elbow in the direction needed, no more. Over-tightening can result in a cracked tank. Btw...while you have the head apart to rebuild it, lube it properly too. If the rebuild kit doesn't include a tube of teflon grease, buy a tube (TUBE, not the liquid or spray) of SuperLube and put a healthy squirt of it in the pump just before you close it up. Pump a couple of times to spread it all over the inside of the pump cylinder, and that's all the lubrication it should need for at least a full season. An annual shot of SuperLube as preventive maintenance eliminates the need for any additional lubrication and can also double the time the seals etc will last, requiring fewer rebuilds or total replacement.
