Before I start the dreaded job of replacing the holding tank and hoses does anyone have tips on how to run the new hose? The aft head to holding tank run is almost completely hidden....how do I get the new hose installed? Any helpful tips would be great. Thanks, Brian

Get Peggy Hall's Book

Brian, Go to the Head Mistress forum on this website. Peggy Hall is an expert in these matters. For the hose replacement, you use a coupling - couple the new to the old and pull it through. You glue it, no hose clamps - they would hang up on edges. Then cut the coupling off.

Thanks David!

That is so simple....why didn't I think of it. I actually do have her book but haven't opened it for a while. I guess I should check it out again before I start the job.

Brian...check out two chapters in it--

"Replacing Hoses" and "Installing a Head Holding Tank"...they both include instructions and tips that make the job a bit easier (no way to make it actually EASY) and a LOT less unpleasant. I'd use only AVS96 hose, made by AussieGlobe (http://www.aussieglobe.com/avs96.htm) ...it's the same hose that SeaLand originally sold exclusively in the US for several years as their "OdorSafe" brand (SeaLand is now getting their hose from an Italian mfr), now sold direct from the mfr using their own brand name--and for about half the price SeaLand charged for it.
