Sampson Post on C22

I've got a 76 c-22 and have removed the nylon cleats that came with it. The boat will be near the mouth of Tampa Bay and will reside in high currents. I have a large sampson post off of an old 50' power boat so I'm going to install the post in the fore area of the bow with 2 large enclosed chalks where the cleats were. Has anyone ever seen this configuration??

Jib Snagging

I put a cleat on the foredeck for tieing off the anchor rode and found a jib sheet would occasionally snag on it, so I removed it.

Overkill

Seems a tad bit like overkill to me but whatever turns your crank! Just make sure you install it in such a way that you can remove it when/if you don't like it.LaDonna
