Salt Stains

I am in the process of rebedding a leaking chainplate that has left the bulkhead with numerous salt stains. There is a teak oil on the wood already. any suggestions on prepping the area, or any products that will make it completly uniform again. Thanks.......

Cleaning

You might try thoroughly wiping the area with fresh water (don't soak it) to remove any salt deposits. Then just oil it again. It *should* blend together well again. You might have to reoil that same spot again but try that. If you really want the most comprehensive brightwork book, buy "Brightwork" by Rebecca Wittman. It looks like a coffee table book but the text is outstanding!! Good luck.LaDonna
