In my H336 I have a salon table. It has a rope that leads to wheel in the top of the compression tube. It appears that the internals no longer assist with the movement of the salon table up and down. It's not apparent how to access the internals so I can make repairs. I hope this is not accomplished by removing the mast. Can you help:confused:

I'm not sure if the rope ever did assist as there is no connection from the inside of the compression post and the table bracket that tightens around it. I can only think it's used as a safety rope to ensure the table doesn't drop when not intended. I have the same on my h376 and also wondered.
--- ADDED----

I was able to search the archives and found at least two threads that indicate there is a counter-weight within the post and does aid in the raising of the table. The thread also indicated that Hunter was contacted and confirmed that the post would need to be removed in order to re-attach or replace the halyard.
