Was at the boat show in Boston over the weekend & came upon a vendor from
Nova Scotia selling these wireless wind instruments that work with tablets, phones, etc. I thought it was pretty cool & @ $350.00 thought it might be a good thing for those that are not into MFD.

I know this is an older thread, but for anyone doing their pre-purchase research, wish I had done my more thoroughly, take a good hard look before purchasing a Sailtimer sensor. There is a lot of promise in the software, but the hardware is just not ready for primetime. I found that out the hard way. In two seasons, I've had only a few weeks of useful operation from the second generation unit I purchased in 2019. The first season, the battery packed it up. The second, the wind cups (new and improved ones just installed by the company while repairing the first problem) seized up after a few weeks. Customer service is amongst the worst I have ever experienced, especially from a Canadian company, which are normally at the very top. I sure wish I had done more homework, like reading your comments before purchasing.

I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out & the product doesn't perform to their claims.
I have since seen other posts on various sites from others whose experiences are very similar to yours.
I would never knowingly post anything on a product that was a bust.

No apologies are needed. I did not do my homework before purchasing; there were plenty of warning signals if I had only taken the time to look. To make matters worse, I poured good money after bad in hopes I might end up with a more reliable system, even when my gut was saying differently. I have a soft spot for small, seemingly innovative companies, but at the end of the day you still have to look for quality customer service and an ability to actually deliver a workable product. Thankfully, in the scheme of stupid boating decisions I have made, this is one of the easier ones to recover from.

I also had a disappointing experience with their product and a very bad experience with their “customer service.”
