I'm having a bad experience with the sails4free service. The idea is that they provide a sail cover or sail for a $20 handling charge with advertising printed on it. We placed an order about a year ago and still havn't received anything. We emailed Andy several times and after several broken promises about delivering our order we asked for our money back. Now he won't respond. Has anyone had experience with them or know of any recourse?

Call your credit card company

Hopefully you paid by credit card. Call their Merchant Resolution department and file a dispute. I've not heard good things about this company so would not recommend anyone else to try their service. Good luck! LaDonna

Andy is AWOL

LaDonna's suggestion is best. I knew Andy. He kept his sailboat in the little marina I keep my boat. He was always there fooling around with it on weekends. I liked him, he was a good guy and would call me about me boat after a storm to let me know everything was ok. We talked about his sails4free idea. Nothing he told me led me to believe he was intended some sort of scam. He lined up support from advertisers in exchange for supply. I don't know if you could expect a top notch sail, but I read that several people got their stuff. Andy disappeared from sight several months ago. Nobody knows what happened to him. He didn't return phone calls. His boat is still there, with a thick coat of growth on the bottom (it wouldn't even get a shadow when he was around). I heard from one of the other guys that the marina had begun proceedings against it for unpaid slip fees. Besides that I don't know what to tell you.
