Any of the big name lofts (Quantum, North, Doyle, UK, etc.) will cut you a good sail. If you shop during boats shows and commit to a sail in late summer/early fall for spring delivery; you can save some money. That said, there are any number of good local or regional sailmakers who will do a good job at probably a better price because they are not carrying the overhead of national advertising, etc.If you do decide to go with a national sailmaker, make sure you know exactly where the sail is being built. Even though there may be a sales and service loft in your home town, the sail might be being built in Malaysia or Barbados or some such place. Finally, when comparing prices make sure you compare like to like. Sailmaker #1 quote you a sail using 5oz material of soft dacron, with no reef points; whle sailmaker #2 quotes a sail out of high-tech dacron with kevlar reinforcement, 2 sets of reef ponts, full length battens, etc.Good luck.
