Sailrite's sewing machines are often recommended by those of us that have them but it is usually pointed out that they are just too expensive for some.

Well now until the 17th of June the LSZ-1 is $100 off and the LS-1 $75 off. Use Code Ultra2013 for the discount.....

We bought ours on one of these sales and have never regretted it (no affiliation to the company),

Agree...

we ordered ours last year on sale and they were also shipping for free. Bullet proof machines that will plow through lots of layers of fabric. So nice to make your own custom projects.

What do you know about the new locking pin zero slip clutch system? Should we sell our old models and upgrade to this advancement? Is there a retrofit kit available?

I would love to have one as well but that is a lot of money! Maybe someday in the future. That is a good deal though.

You save the price of it on your first project.
I made a new dodger by ripping apart my old one and copying all the pieces, then sewing it back together with my sailrite LSZ-1. That alone paid for the machine. I also made a bimini, sail cover, storm sails, sun cover for my working jib, new 130% headsail, a series drogue, harnesses, jacklines, tethers, and a cruising spinaker. If I had to buy all that stuff already made at retail prices I would be in a soup line. It also allows you to re-stitch everything when the threads rot out without having a sailmaker or canvas shop do the work. The savings is all in labor as you do your own work for free plus it is fun. Check out Sumner's projects, really awesome work.
