Does anyone own one of those nice covers from the Sailor's Tailor? Do you have to be careful not to cover the boat when it is damp to prevent mildew? They appear to be really nice, though expensive.

I just bought two for my Highlander, one for summer at the dock and a winter cover. The winter cover is still in the box but the other one was installed and quality looks very good. Lot of reinforcements in key areas and it came complete with hardware. You can see that it was time.

I just purchased a 1987 Hunter 31 and due to the high amount of crazing of the compass and port windows I went ahead and replaced them. Then my wife and I fabricated a Sunbrella boat cover with grommets and home depot bungee cord/hooks that covered the boat from the mast to the stern to mitigate dust, dirt and bird debris infiltration, UV deterioration of 6 winches, wheel, instruments, varnished teak, companionway, port windows, etc. Feel free to contact me for details.

Stephen, Thanks for your response. I have a cover similar to yours from the PO, but still pine needles from nearby trees blow in and dust and dew in the cockpit forces a lot of cleanup before going out. A good waxing EARLY this spring will make cleaning easier I'm sure. The Sailor's Tailor cover covers the entire deck and I'm seriously considering this purchase.
