Sailors awning

Hey everyone, thinking about making a sailors awning for my Pearson 30 as I don‘t really have room for a Bimini, need some ideas, if you have one, show me some ideas, the fabric has been ordered, just need some fresh ideas, I do have a dodger that I will zip onto.
my traveller is at the end of the boom at the stern of the boat, the boat has a wheel instead of a tiller.
I don’t want to make a boom tent as I find it cumbersome to install and stow.

I don't have any pictures, but a previous boat came with an awning that zipped to the aft end of the dodger. The aft end of the awning had a pole that ran athwartships in a pocket - the pole giving the awning horizontal support. The pole then clipped onto each side of the split backstay to support it vertically (not sure what to do if you don't have a split backstay). It was a nice setup that could be used when sailing, the only issue being that you couldn't look over the dodger but had to look through it.

Fred, there is a cockpit sun shade or awning made by Blue Perfrormance
I found that Binnacle Marine was a good source.

Attaches to a main halyard and can be adjusted to meet the needs of crew when at anchor.

Do you want to use this awning while sailing?
You could zip one end onto the aft of the dodger. And use a the main halyard to a central point on the awning. Place a pole across the back and two shock or parachute cord clips to the push pit. The whole thing could roll up around the pole and store easily.
Or is that a tent?

Adapt to fielders choice was my thinking.

Mine will not suit you as my boom is a shorty.
But the details are two lengths of plastic electrical conduit. A 6x3 sheet of light shade cloth and a few lines.
It rolls up and stows easily on a small boat.
This is what was used on a Malaysian prao that I sailed on 40 years ago.
Maybe this will help you come up with something that suits you.

This is my awning. It zips into the dodger. The problem with it is I cannot use the mainsail when it is up. I am OK with that since most of my daysails are jib only. There is also an additional section that zips into the rear of the awning and is held up by the hook, seen in the photo, hanging from the back stay.

The real trick would be to put a double zipper into it where the mainsheet could pass through, curved to match the radius of the boom.

You could tack/rail mount the awnings to under the boom (one on each side). Roll out & secure to life lines when in use and roll up & tie under the boom sides when sailing.

My C30 has an awning like Higgs and Dmax posted. Works well enough and I have sailed with it.
