We've spent the past few days investigating the claims made by Richard Corminboeuf about his Hunter 49. While I'm sure there is much we don't know about the story what we have discovered indicates the following:

- Not all the issues described appear to be warranty issues.

- He has refused appropriate, and even generous, offers of help to correct the problems.

- He has acknowledged that he is using this forum to damage the reputation of Hunter Marine and True North because his demands were not met.

We have therefore removed all of his posts from this forum and revoked his posting privileges.

I will say again, we have absolutely no problem with posts about commissioning and warranty problems. This is a place for owners to share information and those are valid and important topics. But, we will not allow the forum to be used as a tool for negotiation or revenge.

If you have further questions about this feel free to give me a call at extension 115.

Phil:

I think that you have taken the appropriate action here. I agree with your stand on this. Unfortunately some people are NOT willing to negotiate in a normal matter and need to embellish their point of view to convince others of their position.

Every time I have contacted Hunter Marine, they have responded. It may not be the same day and may even the same week, but they eventually get around to answering my questions. Many times they have gone out of their way to dig up old documentation to help me. Needless to say I think they do a very good job of support.

Well done Phil.
I was wondering about those posts, just didn't seem right that Hunter would behave in this manner....

We are the #1 dealer for Hunter Marine worldwide (for the second consecutive year), an achievement we could not have earned by neglecting our responsibilities and commitments to our customers. Whilst I do not feel it would be appropriate to comment on details of our experience with Mr. Corminboeuf in this public forum,I may be contacted at our office, 905-274-8001 or at allan at truenorthyachts.ca

Phil-
I am glad you did this. I checked out his youtube videos and was not impressed with the way he presented his case and was left with the feeling his story was extremely one sided-even allowing for a reasonable amount of self interest.

I too have had only good experiences with Hunter customer service and I hated to see anyone trash them like that.
