Should be a piece of cake. Talk to some of the guys at Arizona Yacht Club for any pointers. I sailed there for decades on 26-27 footers. You will want to be sure you have a marine VHF, coastal and Catalina charts and read about picking up moorings in the Two Harbors Cruisers' Guide (see link). The good news is you can probably go on the string line, so there should be plenty of room for you there. Anchoring takes a LOT of rode; it's deep in most of Catalina unless you are lucky enough to get some of the shallower spots. Has anybody sailed to Catalina on a H260 ? Any problems/concerns/issues ?
If you leave from Long Beach you can launch at ramp near Queensway Bridge. Watch tides however it get pretty shallow in there.

If you sail in typical So. Cal. weather there should be no problem crossing to Catalina in any size boat. Pay attention to the weather forecast and plan your trip in good weather.

Check out the current thread in the Destinations forum. It has some great tips.
