While some may question the order in which I have done things, I recently purchased a vintage Catalina 22 (which at least proves that I did my homework before I bought a boat)and now would like to learn how to sail. Are there any schools that feature the Catalina 22 as their teaching boat, preferably in a warm spot where I could learn this sping before the sailing season starts on the Chespeake? Thanks.

Just look in the back of mags

Try looking in the back of SAIL or Cruising World and you'll find about a zillion sailing schools listed. Call them & see which ones off the C22. Have fun! LaDonna

Welcome Mike

Mike: This doesn't answer your question about learning to sail your Catalina 22, but I think you did make a good decision about your choice of boats. I think as you learn to sail it, you will learn what a good decision you made. Go the the web site, www.catalin22.com. This is the web site for Catalina 22, Fleet 73 on Middle River. My family has had a lot of fun with this fleet. Our main interest is cruising, and many of the activities of the club are racing, but we still have had a lot of fun at picnics and have made some very good friends that we have cruised with, that we met through this club. The officers are listed near the bottom of the web site, and I'm sure they would like it if you would e-mail or call them. I hope to see you this summer sailing on the Bay. Aldo
